Scotland Photo Tour by Thomas Routzong and Steven Skelley - DAY ONE Queen's View and Loch Tummel, Blair Castle, St. Bride's Kirk, River Tay, Dunkeld
Our Scot friends Bob and Ev invited us to spend two weeks touring Scotland. They planned our daily itineraries from their homes on the east and west coasts and acted as our guides as they drove us across their beautiful country. Seeing Scotland with the insight of two Scotland natives is one of the highlights of our travel experiences.
DAY ONE
* Queen's View and Loch Tummel
The Queen’s View in Highland Perthshire overlooks Loch Tummel (Lake Tummel) and is said to have been named after Queen Victoria following her visit to the area in 1866. It has also been suggested that the view was named after King Robert the Bruce’s wife, Queen Isabella of Scotland over 550 years earlier.
The Queen’s View Visitor Centre lies at the eastern edge of Loch Tummel (Loch is Scottish for lake) and is surrounded by part of the Tay Forest Park.
