South Africa is known for the wild animals - especially the Big 5. The Dinokeng Game Reserve is only 4kms from SunEden and is the only Big 5 Game Reserve in the Gauteng Province. SunEden is a 35 hectare game farm and the only resort in the world to offer naked safari drives.
We asked the SunEden Marketing Director, Lofty Lutge, to tell us more.
How would you describe SunEden in one sentence?
SunEden is a world class naturist resort with mostly amazing warm weather with world class facilities but we are world famous because we make everybody feel very welcome here.
What is special about SunEden and your guests?
SunEden is really about living in nature but we also have entertainment for those who love to dance or sing karaoke on certain weekends. The weather at SunEden is true naturist weather and so we tan nude even in the sunny, dry, winter months from May to August.
Secondly, the facilities are world class and include an amazing solar heated Outdoor Swimming Pool, the Pool Lapa, the Pool Pub, the EdenSpa which includes a heated Indoor Pool and 2 Saunas, the BareBoma Fire Pit area, the Bosveld Lapa Dance Hall and Main Pub, the SunCafe Restaurant, the SunRover Safari vehicle for Naked Game Drives and Canoes to paddle naked on the lake.
What accommodation is available at SunEden?
In terms of accommodation, SunEden offers Deluxe, Standard, Budget and Basic Accommodation mostly with Queen or King Size beds and mostly with en-suite bathrooms. There is also a Camping Area with electricity for Mobile Homes, Caravans and Tents and we have furnished Safari Tents for those guests who prefer Glamping to Camping.
What activities and special events are available at SunEden?
At SunEden we have monthly Party Weekends normally at month end. On Party Weekends there is often a Karaoki, a Dance Party, Live Entertainment around the pool, Massages, Naked Yoga, Water Volleyball, Petangue and Water Aerobics. We also offer free Naked Safari Drives on the game farm.
Why is nudism / naturism an important and healthy choice?
When we remove our clothes, we remove our stress.
The Vitamin D from the sun and the exercise and relaxation helps to rejuvenate not only the body but also the mind.
Is your property gay welcoming?
Yes, gay naturists are very welcome! We do have many gay guests who are regular visitors at SunEden, and everybody is welcome.

Every year we improve and maintain our facilities during winter. Two years ago, we made the lake deeper, and we built the Bare Boma (fire pit). Last year, we rebuilt and upgraded our outdoor pool, however this year, we were badly affected by Covid 19. We have started building a Bird Hide and we bought new lounger cushions for the pool area. We are about to build paraplegic bathrooms and toilets. Our biggest project in the pipeline is to increase the size of our Main Pub which will extend up to our Dance Hall to become a huge Pub with dance areas. We also plan to complete the Bird Hide.
